ED
1. Is the item susceptible to any form of Environmental deterioration?
If yes, go to question 2.
If no, add general surveillance task for zone containing this item.
2. Can Environmental deterioration be detected by general visual inspection at target scheduled maintenance
task intervals?
If yes, go to question 4.
If no, go to question 3.
3. Can Environmental deterioration be detected by directed inspection at any practical interval?
If yes, go to question 5.
If no, redesign and go back to RCMA Part 1.
4. Is Age Exploration applicable and effective?
If yes, establish initial general visual inspection on threshold and repeat interval.
If no, establish general visual inspection interval.
5. Is Age Exploration applicable and effective?
If yes, establish initial directed visual inspection on threshold and repeat interval.
If no establish directed inspection interval.
AD
1. Is the item susceptible to Accidental damage from any identifiable source?
If yes, go to question 2.
If no, add general surveillance task for zone containing this item.
2. Can Accidental damage be detected by general visual inspection at target scheduled maintenance
task intervals?
If yes, establish general visual inspection interval.
If no, go to question 3.
3. Can Accidental damage be detected by directed inspection at any practical interval??
If yes, establish directed inspection interval.
If no, redesign and go back to RCMA Part 1.
ACTIONS:
1. Include all identified tasks in the Preliminary Maintenance Plan
2. Overlay tasks from ED/AD evaluation and consolidate,
3. Include tasks for 'Other Structure Items'.
4. Document Final Maintenance Plan for all SSI and other items.
